Global reaction: the Paris Agreement on climate change
Shortly before 7.30pm on 12 December, 195 countries adopted the Paris Agreement, the world’s first universal, legally-binding pact on tackling climate change.
Francois Hollande said the deal would be “a major leap for mankind”; Barack Obama called it “a turning point for the world”. Yet those are just two of the many, many viewpoints on the agreement.
Check out Carbon Brief’s analysis of the final Paris climate deal for a summary of what it contains.
Now, Carbon Brief is collating reactions from around the world in the grid below. We are capturing newspaper editorials, opinion pieces and the thoughts of NGOs, scientists and others.
Each summary is linked, so you can click through to the source. You can also filter the grid by type of reaction.
