Shortly before 7.30pm on 12 December, 195 countries adopted the Paris Agreement, the world’s first universal, legally-binding pact on tackling climate change.

Francois Hollande said the deal would be “a major leap for mankind”; Barack Obama called it “a turning point for the world”. Yet those are just two of the many, many viewpoints on the agreement.
